National Service - BMT Field Camp

It was my toughest 5 days of my life i would say... Living in the jungle for 5 days running around... First of was the 12km Road March from the coy line all the way to the field camp site, it was a long walk the weather was really really hot and not doing any good at every single rest point i was almost at the verge of losing myself and giving up.
Surprisingly, i made it to the field camp site marching for 12km all the way to there it was really something i though i would nv succeeded in the first place thinking on the distance and the bloody field pack isnt really light either. First 2 days of the field camp was abit boring and nothing much to do, but it was still tough to hang in there where every night the sun goes down and you cant use the torchlight and talk very loudly in the night cause "enemy" will spot us ?!

The 3rd day was the killer one... Since morning we took down our tent pack it up into our field pack, carry it over to the shell-scrap area site where we will be digging our shell-scrap. And be begin digging since morning, all the way to the afternoon around 4pm... Everyone was tired out, doesnt really give a shit how dirty we are. All i can say is i got a hot spot directly at me for the whole of the afternoon digging my shell-scrap it was like 200 degrees and everyone is at the verge of giving up as well... Some started digging and there are already water puddle in their shell-scrap from the very beginning. Some of us almost dead or faint temperature hitting 38 or 39 degrees which is really scary so we pour water over our head and stuff and drink up lots of water the whole day, and of cause not the mention keep going over to the latrine aka our designated toilet of at the field camp area.

After the whole digging session is done they made us prone inside the shell-scrap we dug no matter how water muddy it was we they made us prone inside...
Prone = laying belly down - dont really know how to explain it here anyway. google it if u still dont understand haha...
Then make us run from our shell scrap area to the assembly point back and forth for like 2 or 3 times till i feel i almost cant take it anymore i when there, trying my best to catch a breath but i could as i was panting really really hard...  cant take it so i just sit down on the ground... friends beside me was "bro you ok not ?" and i was panting so hard i cant really reply him...

Next thing i know he took my water bottle hand it over to me asked me to drink up but i was unable to hold my own water bottle as my hand was really numb... Same goes to my lips and my legs... I was freaking out a little at this point but i was trying to control this freaking out cause i know the more i freak out the worst my condition will get so i try to regulate my breathing first...
But the next thing i saw was 3 people infront of my laying down on the ground... another 3 or 4 more behind me i hear they also either laying down or also having the same shit as me....
It was like a dear moment i though i might have dead from some heat injury or what shit or my long ago asthma came back for me, but it was like a dehydration. They immediately ask me to take our my "battle vest" my helmet to let my body like get back its cool... The Sergeant and my friends was like pouring water over my head and i keep drinking up more water.

Finally, i was able to recover after awhile getting back my feel of my hands and legs. I stood up and join back with my friends for the moment most of us been waiting for the lettering opening session. Even before open the letter our Sir was talking and we already tearing away, then once we read our letter i started to cry. It was really emotionally for me as i still alive or back into condition to read the letter not getting some heat injury or was sort of other worsen shit that could have happen to me.

As the rest of the days at the field camp was also tough but not as tough as the 3rd day it was by far the worst experienced i had in my 7 weeks in BMT. And oh yea... 2 more weeks to POP... Until my 24km Road March to the Marina Floating Platform... Till then i will be able to know where will i be posted and what kinda of position in the army i will be at... Until i walk this 24km march...

Till next time...
