Ending of Sem 1

Next week is my submission for a couple of stuff for my project where i have to present my scheme concept etc. and end off the 1st semester of the year after coming back from my internship and USA leadership training.

It has been a fast and a blink of an eye as it is already like half a year gone for my last and final year as we only have only approx half a year of shit load of work to do and crazy working hours to complete this final project we have...

Some what i do not know but i feel that in the 12 weeks of ITP it when in my mind very slow pace of time as time really pass damn slow and now today i found that during this school term or sem... It feels very very faster ! I do not know is the change of environment of when im at ITP or USA where the place looks and feel so relax. Although there are deadline and stuff like in ITP we feel very rush all the time, we still feel like there is something and some hours that we can come out with the time and chill out, hang out with friends and colleague.

Anyway... This is the last and final year it is so gonna be one of the most touchy period of my whole Poly life but maybe not the highlight of my Poly life.... What else can it beat the fog and crazy shit we did at San Francisco back then.... But im so happy for myself i fight with all i got till today with where i have achieve and accomplished.

Until i graduate guys ! Wait for my long post of blogging for that day and some touchy comments and photos of me graduating from Singapore Polytechnic.

Laziness or Feeling of giving up

Even since i came back to California, i been like this wanna do work but hardly could really think of what i really wanted. Tried to do and sit there for hours coming up with nothing, WHAT HAPPEN TO MY DESIGN THINKING JUICE !!
Even so im designing something really stupid sometimes,  which makes no sense, it is like designing this thing for the sake of doing my work and not caring much ! At the same time is like once u reached a hiccups part where u occurred to be in a situation like quite hard to resolved, u tend to think of quitting of what u been doing for the past 2 or 3 years.

Maybe that is just me where i like to do this really different and must finish it fast and move on to another type of stuff ! Im just not used to the same old things going over and over again ! Knowing that this is my final year and having it less then only half a year left to go, i have to endure this ordeal my way through whether by hook or crook i have to knowing i only have a stupid NITEC cert that can lead me to no where on earth !

I could only encourage myself that i will finished this poly with full of pride and leaving in no shame to say i am a graduated of a Singapore Polytechnic student no longer a ITE, Normal Technical or EM3 student because all of this doesnt matter anymore when everyone just focus on what you are specialised in today !

Design Concept

I hate this when i can think of many things i wanna do with my building but not the design concept ! Frustrating could be a language problem for me or whatever but i always cant think of one which can give my design a huge impact to the people ! Like a wow factor is nv been there all the time.

Damn it man ! I guess this year is totally aint my year personally !

NEW New Balance Shoe

Bought a amazing offered price at Yishun SAFRA at only 20 bucks ! Thanks to my friend, Ah Le, calling me in the afternoon when he is at work or otw to work then ask me whether wanna buy then i when down and have a look !

And it is really only 20 bucks so i bought 1 pair of them hahahaa... Super worth it ! Good thing i nv bought any running shoe back in the states as it is really quite expensive there when i saw most of the shoes there is like 40++ or 50++ USD... which when you convert them to SGD it is really expensive already !

Here's a picture of the new shoe, not really fancy nice but just a shoe for me to run on comfortably !

Revamp of Blog

I have been using this blog skin or blog title for the my blog for the passed few years already and i havent change the look or style of the image or the header of the blog.

Since the blog url have already changed to something else i will have to change it to something where it suits the title. And the Url given may not be fixed as I havent though of a fixed one yet !

Anyway i need to find free time to do this during/when/after i finish my year 3 projects !
Time for some brainstorming of blog ideas ! But first architecture ideas !! LOL!

SP RockMaster 2012

This is a Rock Climbing Competition done by my friends and I, we are organising this competition gonna be held this year at JCube Shopping Mall on the 14 to 16 September.

Everytime we held a meeting in the Clubroom every single ideas or hiccups always still cause this psyched feeling towards every end of the meeting. It is like so close but yet so far kind of feeling ! Too bad i couldnt say alot of stuff that was held in the meeting but we from SPRC Committee Members promise to bring you guys a awesome Bouldering competition experiences of the whole year !!

Joint Critique 2

The JC1 aka Joint Critique 1 when very smooth as i didnt get to present but it when good as not everyone have to do the presentation.
We dont have exam so we call it critique, as it is a form of presentation then we have to present our design concept etc. to the lecturer for our grading systems. So biggy as it is still the start but im about to die soon in like 2 or 3 weeks time as the time we have is really very limited !

Currently this project is doing for a client profile as others known as persona, a puppet players company performing all kinds of puppet and the architecture will be taking the culture influences and invoke into the design concept or scheme. Pretty tough now huh ?

Oh well i got a rough idea of what i currently wanted already but im currently going to get some consultation and get some feedbacks of what the lecturer thinks about my concept ideas and see what is the outcome at the same time i need to draft out lots of plans and stuff as it will help me in my next presentation as i need to put up double the time to finish up all the stuff such as submission drawings.
When i say submission drawings it will be all the sewage and drainage connection of the building to the manhole or drainage, and yes ! Architects have to think of this consideration so sometimes if a building design sucks, half the time is because of all this stupid little tiny tweeks and hiccup we have to manage and half the time is just that the architect sucks !

I wont say im the talented type of design person but im more to the hardworking side. When i said this to my colleague in during my ITP (Internship Training Programme) They told me... "GOOD!! When you come out to work, it is hardworking that is counts, in fact when u graduate even from PHD in architecture you come out to the industry, you will not even start to design a building already you will be still appointed as a architect not a senior associate or the project director where u overlook and be the main designer of the whole project !"

Oh well... Lots of things to do for the next few weeks and good bye to my social life again ! Welcome back to Singapore and welcome back to Architecture life.
I missed California big time already !

Diary Farm Natural Rock Climbing

This isnt my first time climbing at Diary Farm but more like the 3rd or the 4th time already for me.

For those people who dont really know much about rock climbing, what im doing with my friends here are actually call multi-pitch climbing. Where we have develop a skills of handling with ropes and carabiners to climb up the Rock Wall with a certain amount of length of rope and continue to climb up the wall with that length of rope ! The point is the rope we got is not long enough so 3 or 2 people have to climb to the middle section of the Rock Wall and start up a couple of stuff there then continue to climb again !

After the long talking, we actually tried this thing the 2nd time round and we still didnt managed to complete it ! As the previous round it rained pretty heavy and we actually camped overnight there then in the morning we tried that route. This was before i went for the states trip. And for this time those people we climb today came very late and we have to leave the place before 6.30pm.

We actually climb the route really well this time better then the last. We could only manage to complete the 1st pitch only as we need to complete the another half of the pitch to consider as a full complete climb as this is a 2 pitch route to be qualify as a complete climb. But tragically, my safety anchor got stuck as i wanted to take out my carabiner to do other stuff and it took up really alot alot of time doing that silly thing and i manage to unstuck it and it is running late so we didnt when for the 2nd pitch again !

We will be back to complete this route as it is really really scary at the same time it is really time consuming. I think we will need to find a strategy to complete this route and also we might go there alittle earlier to try to complete this route as it might take a lot of time for us to multi-pitch as some of our rope and carabiner skills are still very immature yet.

NEED more trainings !!

No more Cbox

After further consideration i have decided to removed my cbox or also known to most bloggers as tagboards where it have been spam by idiot around the whole to do their publicity ads or virus shit going on... Cbox have the ban IP function but it doesnt helped much but it still kept coming so i come to a decision to removed the tagboard.

Besides the point i do not think anyone is using the tagboard for like more then 2 years already ! So it is about time i should take it out whether is there any reader or not !

3rd and Final Year in SP

The very last and final year of my year in SP....
It could be the toughest of all years and the most brain dead one where everyone will go all out for this year. We will fight till the very end just to finish what we started !

This is not just the final year for most of the people in my course ! It is the 3rd and final year in Architecture not just in Singapore Polytechnic. If there was a speech or a few words i could say to the people out there, i will definitely shout-out in the graduation day.... "So much for being a EM3, Normal Tech and ITE student for those people we discriminated me thank you i just proved you wrong !"

Anyway good luck with my final year project as it is getting to be a little more and more busy by each week already and i can feel the tension hitting us hard soon. Good luck to all my friends at year 3 now as well as the rest who just entered Poly as Year 1 or 2 you guys must proved those assholes we used to discriminated us at the pass that we are not stupid, useless and different from any other people from JC or O levels holder.

HUAT AR ! 

Feeling of love is lost !

When i thought that my feeling to love is lost....
San Francisco bring it back to life, the place is so beautiful and make me want to go out there and find what we call as true love. It is amazing what a beautiful place can do to you.

I will just say good luck to me myself for finding someone ! But the feeling now is.... Im back to Singapore and it felt like a totally different world of feeling. Question is will i get to where i started ? Or am i still going to search for true love after the San Francisco trip !

We will see about that !

USA Trip 10 June - 29 June 2012

I have been to LA for 1 week then 2 weeks in SF.
It was really a great experiences observing how is the US culture like and how nice the people are there, it was an eye opening for lots of things for me as it is really new and beautiful especially the beach there during the summer vacation as everyone head towards the beach and i managed to hangout there for quite awhile and enjoy the beautiful scenery, zephyr, seagull chipping & the crashing sounds of the sea waves at Santa Monica.
Did quite alot of shopping in LA especially at Desert Hill, i swear that place is like Disneyland for adults ! You can just keep going for the whole day swiping your credit card like free and worry about how much your spend later cause the things there is really cheap especially those local brands like Coach, Vans & Levis and many more like Kate Spade etc.

It was actually a choosen trip thanks to the course manager of my course he picked me for the trip and i actually would thanks whoever recommended me to go ahead for the trip. Meet really awesome people there really cool people to spend really great time with and visit really cool places such as the Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Park, St Mary Cathedral & The Palace of Fine Arts. The method places are really the highlights of the whole trip, as all of the this places we actually figure out and planned by ourselves and travel there via SF public transport.

Golden Gate Bridge will be the most memorable and also a really bad experiences at the same time as some smart alec suggested to cross the bridge all the way to the another side of the bridge & everyone though there will be a bus for us to travel back to SF and we could head back to the hotel and ended up we had to walk back across the bridge to where we started and trust me walking isnt the trouble for us. The day was really cold and i could actually believe it is as cold as 5-10 degree with strong wind and fog covering the bridge feeling like the fog is devouring the bridge away, we could have freeze our ass to death on the bridge.
Some of the guys actually got cheated as the smart alec told them that the day is gonna be really hot as it is summer and there will be no need for jackets ! And LOL! crossing the bridge in freezing cold temperature twice when we reached home we just when straight for the hot shower turn our air-con into heater straight.

The Palace of Fine Arts was really awesome too, as Mitch's mention it feels like some gaming fantasy world as the architecture feels isnt from earth below to some digital graphic world which i actually totally agree with him. The architecture is really awesome i really appreciate this crazy ancient architecture sculpture so much larbour work and time spend to complete a magnificent job. The place is really holistic and awesome the views, the birds, the lake, the kids playing with bubbles and the sunset.

There is so much more to say about USA but i will let the picture do the talking. The pictures could be found in my Facebook. Speaking of picture i was actually really lucky to found Mark Ruffalo at Stanford University.... Who is he ? Its ok.... HE IS THE HULK !!! From the Avengers.... The most worthy photo i could get for the whole trip already. But what is more worthy then the awesome company you have to spend to with you at USA.
I really miss America already. The weather, the people, the scenery, the naturally photoshopped sky, the food and most of all the company i have for the whole of 3 weeks.
